The String

Created and published by Kirstin Dunlap and Sage Look under Side Street Studio Arts.

The String was a monthly publication by Side Street Studio Arts that ran from July-December of 2020. This was a free publication showcasing work inspired by and in response to the world around us. The String aimed to create a platform for the voices of those who are marginalized, silenced, and underrepresented in the world of literature and visual art. ​

This program is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency, a state agency.

Each monthly edition also included a risograph printed foldout that could be removed from the publication. These fold-outs would be a coloring page, poster, or some sort of interactive media.
